Turning Point Interim Director, Dr. Tasheena Thomas-Maccow Becomes Permanent Director
Turning Point Foundation is proud to announce the promotion of Tasheena Thomas, RN, BSc, M.A., PhD., from Interim Director to Director.
Dr. Thomas joined Turning Point in 2020, first serving as Senior Counselor before being tapped to take on the Interim Director role in 2021.
Dr. Thomas has achieved regional recognition in her discipline and is committed to promoting an environment of holistic health and wellness for all. It is a tremendous privilege to present her personal and professional successes to date.
Dr. Thomas earned a master’s degree in Social Work and Psychology, a PHD in philosophy with a focus in Heavy Drug Addiction from the American Intercontinental University, as well as a certification in the fundamental biology of plants and their medicinal value.
She has been cited in various news publications such as the Daily Herald, St. Martin News Network, St. Maarten News, St. Maarten Talks etc. Dr. Thomas has engaged with the community on online podcasts, and radio programs such as SOS Radio, and presented at local, and regional meetings and conferences on topics relating to mental and behavioral health, substance use, nutrition and holistic health and wellness. Additionally, in January 2022 Dr. Thomas was recognized with the Vocational Service Excellence Award for her positive contribution in the community of Sint Maarten.
Dr. Tasheena Thomas works to help her clients maintain sobriety and a positive lifestyle, utilizing personal qualities such as compassion, patience, understanding, and sensitivity to better enhance her profession. She devotes a great deal of time, energy, and hope in her clients and prides herself in the recovery successes that her clients achieve.
She is a loving wife, mother of 3 beautiful children and owner of TeeZan Health and Wellness Center which focuses on the prevention, management, and reversal of chronic disease using whole food, plant-based nutrition, and other lifestyle modalities, growing international clientele.
