The Lifestyle Activities Classes, are an opportunity to for residents to learn more about health & wellness. These sessions, led by one of our most affirming & encouraging staff members, offer motivation and encouragement to give them more tools and tactics to live fuller, healthier and more productive lives.

 

The staff expert, researches and presents thought-provoking sessions, sharing excerpts from various mediums such as motivational speeches, lectures, and interviews etc. The Lifestyle Activities Classes mostly focus on health and motivation. Covered so far are topics such as:  

  • Making the Most of Your Potential

  • Overcoming Addiction

  • Finding Your Purpose

  • Answering the Question -  “Why am I alive?”

  • Overcoming Fear

  • Leaving Your Comfort Zone

  • Depression

  • Suicide Prevention

  • Looking Toward Your Future & Not at Your Past

  • Blood Types

  • Prostate Health - Overcoming the Stigma of the Exam & Foods to Prevent the Disease

However, some sessions veer to other informative topics, some of which include:

  • Cultures Around the Globe – Broadening their knowledge of the world and gained a deeper appreciation for the lives they live.

  • Saying Yes to Quality Time with Family – Stressing the importance of balance & temperance.

  • Biographical Stories – Hearing the true stories of real people who faced life-threatening odds and overcame them.

In the Lifestyle Activities Classes our staff expert shares enlightening videos and kindles rousing discussions that promote critical thinking, allow residents to learn respect for other opinions and feelings and will hopefully help them on their recovery journeys, even beyond their time at Turning Point.
