Toe-may-toe. Toe-mah-toe.

A tomato may be a fruit, but it is a singular fruit. A savory fruit. A fruit that has ambitions far beyond the ambitions of other fruits. - E. Lockhart

This week, Turning Point’s garden produced bushels and bushels of tomatoes!

Despite being a fruit, tomatoes are generally eaten and prepared like a vegetable. Right now they are making their way to the plates of the Turning Point residents adding to their meals vibrant color and many nutrients such as vitamin C, potassium, folate, and vitamin K.

Whether in a sandwich, salad, salsa, and/or sauce, tomatoes are versatile and Turning Point’s homegrown tomatoes are absolutely delicious.
